That's why at Precious Steps Photography we provide a complete experience where everything is taken care of for you! We keep things stress-free so you can relax, enjoy your sweet little baby and still capture this moment before they grow.

The Process

Step 1: Design Consultation

Your newborn session should be as unique as your baby, and the final artwork should reflect the beauty and personality of your family. Come by my studio for a fun visit! We will go through colors, props and more to make sure your session is perfectly customized to your preferences.

Step 2: The Session

This session will be a beautiful time for your family. We provide everything you could need for your session - from colorful wraps to gorgeous, tiny outfits, headbands and bonnets! I have photographed many newborns and have lots of patience. You'll enjoy our time together so much; you may not want to leave the studio!

Step 3: View & Order

Get ready for the grand reveal! 1-2 weeks after your session you will come back for your ordering appointment. In my incredible software, we will watch a musical slideshow with all your images. I'll help you narrow down, choose images, and show you how different options will look on your wall. Check out some of our products here.

Step 4: Pickup & Delivery

We believe that artwork is meant to be enjoyed immediately. It shouldn't just sit around in boxes waiting until someone finds the time to hang it! Therefore, all orders containing Wall Art include complimentary delivery and installation. For all other orders, we will contact you when your order arrives and arrange a time for you to pick up your order from the studio.

FAQ

When should I book my newborn photo session?

The best time to book your session is before your baby is born. During the second and third trimesters, you can schedule your session in order to ensure availability. Once your baby is born we will set an exact date and time for the session to take place.

Until what age can you do a newborn shoot?

The best time to do a newborn photography session is before your baby is 3 weeks old. We can still take pictures up until 12 weeks, but the baby may not want to do all the poses and maybe more awake throughout the session.

Do I need to bring anything for a newborn session?

No. I provide all outfits and props for your session. If you have something(s) you would like to incorporate just let me know and make sure to bring it along!

What should I expect during a session?

Before we start a newborn session we want to make sure the baby is happy, sleepy, and comfortable. Therefore, we will try to time a session to start right after your baby eats. We may also stop in the middle of a session to allow you to feed your baby again if necessary. Sessions take approximately 3-5 hours and my top priority is keeping your baby safe, happy, and comfortable the entire time.

What if my baby won't sleep or cries alot?

Don't worry! We will take all the time your little one needs to get gorgeous pictures. I have lots of tricks up my sleeve to keep your baby calm and happy. If your baby won't sleep we will get gorgeous awake pictures instead!

Do You offer in-home sessions?

Yes! By an in-home session we will bring everything to you! Lighting, props, backdrops, outfits and accessories. We will even come back to you for your Ordering Appointment so you can view and choose your images from the comfort of your home. These sessions have an additional travel fee.
