is my baby too old for newborn pictures?
As a newborn photographer, that's a question I get a lot. Really, there's no clear-cut answer. I'd say that the best time frame to take newborn pictures is before 3 weeks old. That being said, it doesn't mean that they can't take newborn photos after your newborn turns 3 weeks. I've taken gorgeous newborn pictures of 9-week-old babies, even older!
Here's the thing- The younger the baby, the more sleepy and cooperative he or she will be. So, those adorable naked baby poses? We definitely need the baby to be tired and cooperative for that. The older the baby gets the less likely it is that you'll get naked baby poses and particular prop poses as well, and the more likely that the bulk of your photos will be with your baby swaddled up. I do have some tricks up my sleeve though and have managed to get many naked/half-naked photos of older newborns as well!
