Dear New Mom,
You’re healing. You’re adjusting. You’re figuring out feeding, sleeping, soothing… and maybe even remembering to drink water. You are showing up for this tiny, perfect person every moment of the day, even when you’re not sure how you’re still standing.
You worried about how your baby would do.
You wondered if your other kids would cooperate.
You questioned whether you would look “put together enough” to be in the photos.
But you came anyway.
Tired eyes, full heart, soft strength—you showed up.
And I need you to know: I saw you.
I saw the way you gently shushed your baby as only you know how.
I saw the quiet pride in your eyes when I showed you a beautiful image on the back of the camera.
I saw your partner look at you with awe, watching the way you love your child.
I saw your oldest hug you tightly between shots because they still need you, too.
I saw you fixing a hair bow, wiping spit-up, brushing crumbs off your toddler’s shirt—and still smiling when the shutter clicked.
And that’s exactly what your baby will want to remember one day.
Not the makeup. Not the matching outfits. Not the Pinterest-perfect poses.
But you.
Soft. Present. Loving.
Doing the best you can in a season where your heart is growing faster than your sleep schedule.
You may not feel like yourself yet.
But trust me when I say: the person you are right now is someone your children will always cherish.
And in the years to come, these photos won’t just be for you to remember them—
They’ll be there for them to remember you.
So thank you for showing up.
For trusting me to capture a love so new and raw and honest.
You’re doing an incredible job.
And I see you.
With love,
